Happy Birthday, Jacob

One Year Old - I will post his one year update after we go in for his check up next week

I was too sick to decorate his cake and the kids wanted to help, so here it is compliments of Jonah and Emma

Birthday Sister

Birthday Brother

If you look at his eyes, you can see he is not feeling well. He spent the next five days battling a stomach virus.

Presents

The sibblings "helped" quite a bit and Jonah announced that each present was in fact for him

Just want to kiss him!

Such a goofy little guy

Oooohhh! This face!

Check out those gums. He is miserable cutting a new round of teeth.

All smiles

He loves shoes. He got his first pair of real shoes. They are two and a half sizes bigger than the shoes Jonah got for his first birthday. Hilarious!

Happy Birthday, Jacob Daniel!

Eleven Months

Off to the ENT to discuss tubes. Jacob has his tubes in at 11 months and did great. The tubes have been a HUGE blessing.

Month 11 saw Jacob pulling anything off the table he could reach - he is off the charts in height, so he got a hold of a lot

We tried coloring...it lasted about a minute before he ate the crayon

L O V E this picture

He is full of smiles all day long

Jacob started walking around 10 1/2 months

Eight Months

He loves playing in his bed

 First time in the swing...

Napping at the zoo

Clapping (I love when Emma says, "Isn't that great!")

Enjoying his finger foods

Swinging Again

How he looked after Emma fed him for the first time

He wouldn't do "So Big" but a cute video of him playing.

Check out his wild hair. I love how crazy it is.

Sweetly sleeping

Breakfast time with helper Emma

He has the bottom two teeth as well as the top four

Yes, he is chewing on a clean diaper. It is amazing what you let the third child do if they are quiet!

At Eight Months Jacob...
  • eats finger foods - O's, puffs, green beans, peas, carrots, potato, pears, peaches, bread, chicken
  • has not found a food he doesn't devour
  • rolls both directions and moves himself across the room by stringing his rolls together
  • claps his hands
  • does "so big"
  • plays ball by rolling the ball back and forth with us
  • plays peek a boo with a blanket
  • sucks his thumb any time he gets a handful of an object whether it is my hair or a stuffed animal or a towel or Jonah's puppy
  • is rocking back and forth on his knees
  • sits himself up from laying on his tummy. His crib is his favorite place to do this
  • loves to knock over blocks that I stack for him
  • is super excited about Jonah's garage. He loves watching the cars come down the ramp.
  • loves being outside and going for walks
  • has six teeth
  • says dada and ba. Still no mama
  • he is working on waving
  • loves to read..when someone actually stops to do that with him
  • still is working on his sign language. I have not been as consistent with his signing
  • pulls his socks off all day long and chews on them
  • still loves to blow on my skin
  • gives intentional kisses to mommy and daddy
  • enjoys skyping and interacts with whoever we are skyping with
  • has CRAZY hair. We love it and I have no intention of cutting it anytime soon. It is so funny and sweet and a great conversation piece with strangers.
  • enjoys his brother and sister, but especially his sister!
  • does a great job in the nursery at BSF and church
  • is INTENSE, opinionated, high strung and LOUD. He is very quick tempered and I am quite sure we have our work cut out for us with him.
  • has had two ear infections in the past month.
  • will only calm down for Mommy in the middle of the night
  • reaches intentionally to be held
  • tenses up and shakes when he is excited
  • is over 22 pounds and wearing 18 month clothes - he and Jonah were sharing some shorts before the weather got cooler.

Seven Months

Seven Months Old
  • loves to sit up and play with a basket of toys
  • enjoys the mega saucer and has figured out how to move his body to get the saucer to slide across the floor to the other side of the room
  • LOVES to be outside...he stops screaming immediately when he gets outside. We have found that putting him in the saucer on the porch while we eat dinner allows us some quiet and the ability to all eat at once
  • still not rolling from the front to back - he has no interest in this
  • still only says dadada - he makes LOTS of noise all day, but dada is the only real syllable he says
  • really enjoys blowing raspberries on my skin - anytime he gets a patch of my skin he starts blowing
  • has yet to meet a food he doesn't like and really doesn't appear to favor any particular foods
  • is highly distracted when nursing by anything around him
  • has had two ear infections in the past week - he was on amoxicillin for the first one which cleared it up but a second one developed in the other ear
  • has two teeth but there are about 6 that are waiting to pop through
  • likes to bounce and bounce and bounce
  • is a mama's boy
  • has started eating cheerios - he is still working on the pincher grasp but is able to get some in his mouth
  • eats a huge amount of food - 2-3 containers of baby food per meal and would keep eating if I let him
  • has started taking longer naps in the afternoon YAY!
  • likes to get a handful of my hair in his fist and then suck his thumb - in the midst of the ear infections this was his comfort in the middle of the night
  • he is a very sweet and flexible baby. He has handled the transition to Emma's school schedule very well and does not fall asleep in the car, which is such a gift! He loves his siblings and spends most of his day smiling and interacting with them. He can definitely hold his own and is very loud out of necessity. We are so excited to see his personality continue to emerge. We love you so much Jacob Daniel!
