Jacob in June

Jacob has figured out how to roll onto his side. No rolling over yet. Mike keeps reminding me that it takes time for the "Titanic" to turn.

He sweetly rubs the hand he is sucking with the other hand. Love it!

Oh! That smile!

He now sits in his highchair at meal time and enjoys seeing what is going on.

Sleeping with Monkey and rubbing his hand

He has grown out of the bouncy seat but still sits in it. Emma broke the bottom. She fell on him one night and broke the bottom of the seat, but thankfully Jacob was ok.

He has also outgrown his changing table on the pack n play. We are still using it, but he is far too long for it.

Sweet baby!

Three Months Old

Three Months Old

Be very afraid, Jacob! Jonah did bite Jacob's finger this past week - very hard. It was innocent enough, but the poor baby screamed so much. On a positive note, Jonah has been taking much more of an interest in his little brother. He brings him trains to play with and burp cloths when he spits up and gives him his monkey when he cries. My favorite, though, is when he gives Jacob his Puppy to comfort him. Nothing says "I love you" more than a germy lovie! He likes to put the tail in Jacob's ears. So sweet!

I love his smiles!

Always so sweet when they are sleeping

Yes, he is a chunker! He is huge, but I LOVE his squishy cheeks and legs and tummy.

He has a very expressive face - I love his BLUE eyes!

Wish Jacob was turned around but it is a great pic of the three

Sweet, sweet smiles

He really doesn't like tummy time. We are working on it.

There is really no way to adequately show how long he is, but rest assured, it is long!

Sweet picture and I love Jacob's expression...that is how I would feel too

I really think he looks like Emma here, although I have been seeing more of Jonah in him as well.

Our sweet boy is three months old already! I cannot express how sweet he is. He is happy all day until 6:00 hits and then screams until he goes to bed at 7:15. He sleeps from 7:30-7:30 every night. Such a blessing! He is napping four times a day for about 45 minutes each. I am continually amazed at his ability to sleep through the noise of his siblings. He is the only one of our kids that sits with me in church and plays sweetly then just falls asleep when he should. He is about as perfect as I could imagine! Physically he is behind where Emma and Jonah were at this point, but that is really not a fair comparison and he is significantly chunkier than they were. Jacob enjoys sitting against me and playing with his toys. He just started grabbing for toys and intentionally touching things. He loves his playmat and his taggie car is his favorite toy. In his carseat he enjoys holding on to rings and batting at his elephant. This is an off month for doctor's visits, so I do not know how big he is, but he is wearing 9 month clothes and is very clearly growing. He can pull his legs up on his playmat and hit the middle toy with his feet!

We are really enjoying Jacob and it is fun to see his siblings love on him and enjoy him!

Second Month

Quick update on Jacob - at two months he is weighing 16 pounds 4 ounces (99th percentile) and 26 1/2 inches long (99th percentile) and his head circumference is 16 3/4 inches (93rd percentile). He is now sleeping through the night from 7:30 to 7:30 and such a sweet, sweet baby! Here are a few videos and pictures.

Jacob is talking so, so much. Here is just a little snapshot of him.

Jonah asked to hold Jacob...VERY rare

Then he showered him with kisses

And gazed lovingly into his eyes. All the while I was ready to swipe Jacob away when the sweetness became rough

Of course Emma needed some Jacob time too

He is so sweet in light blue. He is precious!

Check out those thighs!

I took this video while he was in his crib. He had been crying so I laid him in there and turned on the mobile. He LOVES the mobile and I cannot turn it on at nap or bedtime because he immediately wakes up and coos and flails around. He spent about 15 minutes "talking" nonstop to the animals in his mobile.

Who does he look like?

There is a strong resemblance between Emma and Jacob. It is hard to capture in pictures, but I tried. She is very proud that her brother looks like her. If you showed me a picture of Emma as a baby it would be difficult to tell you if it was her or Jacob. You can decide for yourself.

Two Months Old

Jacob is two months old! He is so much fun! He is "talking" up a storm and as sweet as we could ask for. He is still pretty opinionated and loud but also sweet and content. He goes with the flow and is such a joy. He is still waking up once a night to eat and is now waking up looking for the pacifier (I hate this stage). He is going to bed around 8 and waking up around 7 or 7:30. He goes down for his naps very well as long as he has a pacifier. Until now he would only nap if held - not even in the car or swing. Last week he started going to sleep on his own in the crib and that has changed my life dramatically. Emma and Jonah adore him although Jonah has gone through another phase just struggling with his little brother demanding so much attention. Jacob goes in for his two month visit next week and we are anxious to see how much he weighs. He is growing so fast and is now in 9 month clothes! Precious, precious boy!
